Notes for May 2

This lecture concerns sonification of data. This practice has been advertised as one way to make data more accessible by converting visual channels into auditory ones. However, as discussed in INFO3300, audio has its own unique limitations that make sonified data a lot harder to process. We'll look into how to work with sound on the web in order to make a sonified visualization, identifying issues along the way.

Nowadays there is an audio API built into browsers. We'll use tone.js as an easy front-end for this interface.
